Audubon announces third year of highly successful grant program

See the grant annoucement below from Bryan Byrne at PA Audubon.

The National Audubon Society has recently opened the application period for the third year of TogetherGreen, a multi-faceted program that has already benefited hundreds of conservation projects across the country.  Some of these programs may be of interest to your group, and we encourage you to learn more about the program and contact us with any thoughts.  All of the program guidelines can be found at

I especially would like to draw your attention to the Conservation Leadership program ( and Conservation Innovation Grants (

The Leadership program includes all-expenses paid training workshops and a $10,000 grant for a Conservation Action Project.  The class is composed of 40 leaders from across the country; half from within the Audubon network and half from outside organizations.  We have been very successful in getting Pennsylvanians into the program, with five PA fellows selected in the first two years.

The grant program provides funding for innovative solutions to conservation issues, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 (the majority of grants are in the $20-30K range).  Applicants for these grants must be an Audubon entity – including Audubon centers, state offices, and local chapters – working in conjunction with at least one non-Audubon partner organization.  We hope Pennsylvania will continue to be well-represented in these grant awards.

Please visit the above websites to explore the program; previous projects and fellows are highlighted, which may help spark some project ideas.

Applications for Year Three of the Conservation Leadership program and the Innovation Grants program will be due May 7th, 2010.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or project ideas.
