New US Forest Service reports detail impacts of forest conversion in suburban areas

Check out these two reports from the US Forest Service. They add to the list of excellent reports produced by the State and Private Forestry group, called “Forests on the Edge.” The first, Forest Land Conversion, Ecosystem Services, and Economic Issues for Policy: A Review (, addresses ecosystem services, those increasingly tangible benefits communities derive from having intact forests.
