Revised PADEP Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) submitted to EPA

From DEP…

On November 29, 2010 DEP sent to EPA Pennsylvania’s final Phase 1 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP). The WIP outlines the state’s plan to address nutrient and sediment loadings that drain to the Chesapeake Bay.  The WIP was prepared following EPA’s November 4, 2009 guidance that outlined their expectations for WIPs and was revised based on public comments, workgroup input and comments received from EPA. The draft WIP was submitted to EPA on September 1, with a public comment period extending from September 24, 2010 to November 8, 2010. Pennsylvania’s WIP was prepared to address EPA’s expectations for the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), scheduled for publication December 31, 2010.

Due to its size, the WIP will be posted to the Chesapeake Bay website ( by Thursday December 2, 2010. EPA has also posted each submitted WIP to their TMDL website: .

  1. Alan,We do like the WaWa convenience steros when we drive up that way. We especially love the ESVA (Eastern Shore of Virginia) not only because it’s rural but because artists have congregated in the VA towns there. Onancock for one is a dog-friendly town that also has its own marina. We got take-out food from a restaurant and ate with Freckles on a picnic bench at the marina but there are also outdoor cafes where we could sit and eat with him. Enjoy!Jane
