New bills introduced for natural gas drilling

A new State Senate bill has been introduced that would limit the NPDES permitting requirements for natural gas drilling sites by State Sen. Mary Jo White (R-21st). See full text of the bill here.

Conversely, several new bills have been introduced in the State House that would limit drilling. State Rep. Phyllis Mundy (D-120th) submitted four new bills that would enact a 1 year moratorium, expand the buffer for drinking water supplies (e.g., reservoirs), from 100 ft to 2,500 ft, create an online tracking system, and restrict drilling in floodplains.
