New drilling permit request on the Lackawaxen River

Stone Energy Corporation is requesting permits for two Marcellus Shale gas drilling projects in Wayne County, Pennsylvania on the West Branch of the Lackawaxen, DCNR’s River of the Year for 2010. One of the permits proposes withdrawing 700,000 gallons of water per day from the West Branch of the Lackawaxen River.
