SUMMARY:Annual North Branch Sojourn - Endless Mountains Heritage Region
DESCRIPTION:Take an epic four-day river adventure down the Susquehanna River’s North Branch with the Endless Mountains Heritage Region! The annual North Branch Sojourn on July 23-26\, in partnership with Endless Mountains Outfitters and Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals\, will begin at the French Azilum Historic Site in Bradford County and go to Plains Township in Luzerne County for a total of 68 river miles! \nParticipants are asked to arrive at Endless Mountains Campground in Laceyville by 8 a.m. on July 23 to sign waivers and check in\, with optional overnight camping at the campground on the evening of July 22. Overnight locations along the 68-mile adventure will be Endless Mountains Campground\, the Eaton Township property at the end of North Eaton Road\, and Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals in Falls with entertainment and educational programming scheduled at each location! \nEMHR has flexible options for kayak/canoe rentals for this trip\, which can be made through registration. DESCRIPTION:Connecting Pittsburgh’s communities to paddling opportunities with the dramatic backdrop of Pittsburgh’s Downtown\, the ‘Kayaks and Kamraderie: Exploring Pittsburgh’s Rivers Sojourn’ will provide educational and outdoor recreation opportunities and provide many participants with their first experience on the water. \nAttendees will paddle the Allegheny River up to the Point of Pittsburgh\, where the Allegheny and Monongahela converge to form the Ohio\, before paddling back to enjoy lunch aboard Riverlife’s Shore Thing mobile programming barge.
