POWR cannot think of a more fitting way to mark twelve extraordinary months than with an event that celebrates resilience, community, and the capacity of nature to amaze, inspire, and heal. On March 18, 2021 POWR will host The Wild & Scenic Film Festival, On Tour, virtually. POWR invites you to join your colleagues, friends, and family to enjoy an evening of films from the brand new 2021 line-up- films that celebrate the beauty and wonder of our natural world and inspire audiences everywhere to seek out ways to enjoy and take action to protect it.

The festival is a more lighthearted yet meaningful expression of the spirit of POWR’s work to empower the people who volunteer and work on behalf of shared waterways. Across the state, dedicated, passionate citizen champions collaborate with local, state, and federal partners to restore and conserve Pennsylvania’s waterways, watersheds, trails, and open spaces.Celebrate their efforts and demonstrate support for these local advocates and for POWR by attending this Wild & Scenic Film Festival, On Tour event from the comfort and safety of your home.

To ensure the health and wellbeing of attendees, POWR has postponed until the late fall its biennial statewide conference that would have brought together Pennsylvania’s community watershed organizations to share and celebrate their successes. “However,” said Tali MacArthur, Program Manager for POWR, “while we cannot meet in person, we can come together on this night in March to be reminded why this work is so critical, to consider what we risk losing, and to be inspired to carry on with the important task of stewarding and advocating on behalf of Pennsylvania’s water resources.”
