Ensure Safe Drinking Water in Your Municipality: A webinar about PFAS

March 3, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Move Past Plastic, MPP, would like to invite you to a program developed to help municipalities find out if their drinking water is safe from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. PFAS are a large family of chemicals persistent in our environment including groundwater.

Join MPP to learn about this emergent contaminant that has been found in twenty seven percent of the 412 public water system sources the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) tested in Pennsylvania.  Learn how you can help ensure that your community has safe drinking water no matter where you live. PFAS are a persistent, “Forever” chemical found in 99% of all American’s blood and pose significant health risks to the environment and the health of people.

In addition to a presentation about PFAS, we will introduce you to a Toolkit that will help you notify your municipal governing leaders and water specialist to engage them in PFAS education and request the municipality tests for PFAS in their drinking water and wastewater.

This Virtual Program will be held on:

Tuesday, March 1st, 7-8 pm.

Wednesday March 2nd, 12-1pm.

Thursday, March 3rd, 7-8 pm.
