Swatara Watershed Association: Nature Journaling Workshop

July 26 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Welcome nature lovers and artists! Join Swatara Watershed Association 9 AM for a Nature Journaling Workshop at the Bordner Cabin. Artist in Residence Meg Lemieur will guide participants in a fun and creative nature journaling workshop – collecting and organizing observations, questions, connections and explanations about the natural world on paper, using words, pictures and numbers. You don’t need to be an artist, writer, or a naturalist to participate. In this workshop, you will be guided to look closely, notice more and learn to notate the wild world around the Bordner Cabin. These nature observations will help inform Meg’s final Artist in Residence Art Piece – an illustrated map of the Swatara Watershed. It’s your chance to be part of the creative process!

We will meet at the parking area at the Sand Siding Trailhead at 9am on July 26th. We will hike to Border Cabin (about a mile on wide gravel paths)where Artist Meg Lemieur will guide the Nature Journaling Workshop. Use the hike back to gain inspiration for your new nature journal.

All art supplies will be provided. Bring water, a snack, sunscreen, insect repellant and something to sit on, if desired.

This is event is for ages 14 +. Rain date is July 27th at 9am.
