POWR Requests Your Responses to a 2020 Survey of Community Watershed Associations
Although POWR has postponed many of our in-person events and workshops, we remain committed to providing Pennsylvania’s watershed organizations the tools, resources, and educational opportunities you need to continue conservation, restoration, and education efforts in your local watershed.
In order to better serve the needs of your group, we have created a survey that will help us understand your organizational capacity and strengths. The survey also includes questions about your training needs. POWR surveyed PA’s community watershed organizations about 5 years ago, but updating this information will allow us to track changes over time and improve our ability to provide training and education programs that will help you meet your organization’s current objectives.
Your responses are important to ensure that POWR gets the most complete and accurate picture of the diversity of organizations and their needs as well as to determine where there are common themes. We recognize that online surveys seem a bit informal, but with over 175 watershed organizations in the commonwealth, it is the best way to obtain the most feedback. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your time and for your thoughtful responses.

The Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds & Rivers (POWR) is a nonprofit organization driven to protect Pennsylvania’s watersheds. POWR operates through direct work and support of other organizations with similar missions. The organization works across the state.
In 2008, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) and POWR joined together, designating POWR as a 509(a) supporting organization of PEC. This agreement offers much to both organizations including expanding the grassroots impact on conservation, as well as increasing organizational efficiencies. Further, it has stimulated an effort to reinvigorate POWR and identify a path forward to greater impact on the environment.
