Join the Swatara Watershed Association and Cocoa Kayak Rentals of Hershey for the 34th Swatara Sojourn. This guided paddle will cover 15 miles at the southern end of the Swatara Creek, beginning near Hershey and finishing with a stunning view of the confluence with the Susquehanna River in Middletown. This paddle is perfect if you are a beginner paddler, new to the Swatara Creek or have been paddling your entire life. Although this part of the creek passes through a largely suburban area, the Swatara offers a secluded feel and an abundance of wildlife. Join us in doing your part to leave the creek a little cleaner than you found it by picking up litter along the way. A light breakfast, lunch and snacks are included with your registration fee and you will learn about the geology, history and ecology of this unique section of the creek. (Caves, what caves?) Go to swatarawatershed.org and click on the sojourn link at the top of the page for more information and to register.
