The Lackawaxen River Sojourn is a two day, one night, paddling adventure along the scenic Lackawaxen River. From Honesdale to Hawley and then from Hawley to Lackawaxen, the sojourn features stops in quaint villages and lively small towns. Enjoy a leisurely paddle pace along what native Lenape called “swift waters.” There will be ample space to meet new friends and see lots of wildlife. Meals will be provided, along with presentations from area conservation and environmental organizations. There will be an optional overnight camping opportunity near the midway point of this approximately 15 mile journey. We hope you’ll join us for what we’re excited to be the first of many sojourns along our lovely Lackawaxen. This event is a project of the Lackawaxen River Trails group. The group is a network of volunteers and partner organizations working together to fundraise and advocate for an interconnected land and water trail network along the Lackawaxen River in Wayne and Pike Counties.
