Friends of the Riverfront and Three Rivers Outdoor Company are teaming up to provide 3 opportunities this season for lock through classes for paddlers in Allegheny County thanks to the 2024 Pennsylvania River Sojourn Mini Grant! This will allow paddlers an opportunity to learn more about navigating longer distances by water through accessing lock-through points with confidence! Bring your boat and be prepared to get dirty as Yellow Breeches Watershed Association and volunteers remove trash and debris from several miles of the lower section of the Breeches. Lunch and pizza dinner provided. Event runs from 12:00 pm to 5:30pm. Check-in begins at 11:00 am at Pavilion #4 at the New Cumberland Borough Park. This free event is a great opportunity for community members to learn about the importance of stormwater management. It also allows the Borough to highlight their efforts toward managing stormwater runoff and environmental protection.
